Megan Horrigan PT, DPT, LAT, ATC, is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, as well as a licensed and certified Athletic Trainer. Combining her education and experience in both disciplines, Megan has built a strong foundation in athletics, rehabilitation and patient-centered care; she is highly proficient in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries.

A Wakefield native, Megan graduated from Wakefield High School in 2017. She grew up deeply involved in sports, earning varsity letters in field hockey, ice hockey, and lacrosse, while also participating in year-round club field hockey and ice hockey. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and participated in the school’s Italian exchange program.

Megan first earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Lasell University, graduating and passing her licensing board exams in 2021. During her time at Lasell, she gained valuable clinical and athletic experience working with multiple athletic programs, including Weston High School, Babson College men’s basketball, ice hockey, baseball and women’s lacrosse, Regis College baseball and soccer, Bentley University women’s basketball, and Lasell University athletics. She also worked with club sports and campus recreation programs. Megan also played field hockey for 3 years (shortened due to COVID restrictions), with her team even traveling to Bermuda to face the Bermuda Women’s National Team. The trip served as an overseas exhibition and preseason training tour for the Lasers.

In between her studies and sports, Megan’s summer job for 7 years was at the Museum of Science in Boston, running youth internship programs and immersive sleepovers.

In 2024, Dr. Megan completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy education at UMass Lowell, passing the state licensing exam in August of that year. Her clinical experience included outpatient orthopedics at Professional Physical Therapy in Salem, MA, sports performance training at Athletic Evolution in Wilmington, MA, and acute care rehabilitation at Haywood Hospital in Gardner, MA. She additionally provided per diem athletic training coverage for Newton South High School and on campus with UMass Lowell club sports and recreation programs. UMass Lowell’s DPT program also requires hands-on experiential and service-learning courses. Megan focused on sports-related concussion management by developing recovery plans utilizing evidence-based cervical and vestibular therapies for the women’s rugby team.

Megan is also Titleist Performance Institute Level 1 Certified from TPI – Titleist Performance Institute. She is trained in the Body-Swing Connection, the concept that a player’s physical limitations directly dictate their golf swing mechanics, with specific expertise in The TPI Movement Screen.

Throughout graduate school and beyond, Dr. Megan developed a particular interest in lower extremity rehabilitation, including knee and ankle injuries, skating-related injuries and hypermobility disorders. Her background as a multi-sport athlete and clinician allows her to connect with athletes and active individuals of all ages, helping them safely return to the activities they love.

Outside of the clinic, Megan enjoys golf, skating, boating (with her NH captain’s license,) and spending time in the Wakefield community she proudly calls home.
